Frequently Asked Questions
Why ICF swimming pools?
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) pools give you unlimited design freedom, faster builds, and far less long-term upkeep. Unlike traditional concrete pools that can leak and require frequent repairs, an ICF pool creates a steel-reinforced, insulated shell built for strength, longevity and energy savings.
What are your energy savings?
ICF delivers real energy performance. With high-performance EPS insulation surrounding the entire pool—walls and floor—heat loss is dramatically reduced. Heating costs can drop 50–80% (depending on climate, cover use, and temperature setpoint), and you get a longer swim season with less energy use—savings that compound year after year.
What autocovers do you use?
The Aquamatic Hydramatic autocover we recommend is always a direct sale to the consumer, so you’ll work directly with Aquamatic for the cover itself. We include a few prep components in our kit to get you ready, but you won’t purchase the system through us.
Can you tell me about your build methods?
The type of wall finish you’re planning for your pool determines which of our ICF kits will be the right fit. If you’re going with a vinyl liner or PVC membrane, that falls under our standard kit. These builds are less complex, with the process starting by pouring the pool floor and then stacking and pouring the walls. We provide a detailed 120-page illustrated installation guide for this method, making it straightforward to follow.
How much can I save by doing-it-youself?
Most customers can realistically save 50–60% by installing our ICF pool kits compared to hiring a pool contractor for a traditional steel-wall, fiberglass, or gunite pool.
How much are you're ICF pool kits?
Our kit pricing depends on your dimensions, location and the add-ons you choose (e.g., spa, LED waterfall, deck jets, autofill).
Standard kits: $18,000–$28,000
Advanced Monopour kits: $26,000–$42,000.
If you’re building an internal spa, there are a few design and plumbing considerations. We’ll review those with you while customizing your kit.

How quickly do you deliver your kits?
Once payment is confirmed, kits ship within 1–2 weeks from our warehouse in Springfield, Missouri.
How do you build the internal stairs?
You decide what you want to build inside your ICF pool. Our installation guide walks you through our process for forming and structuring stairs, ledges, and sundecks. Sundecks are usually 6-8 feet wide, and typically all the way across but don’t have to be if you want a swim lane – you can cut it short. For depth 8-12 inches of water is pretty common.
What about heating and costs?
You can’t beat the efficiency of a heat-pump – they use about $1 in electricity for every $3-4 in gas. However, they must be installed outdoors and won’t work below ~ 40*F, so they work well to extend the season. If you want to heat all winter, definitely gas.
